2 in 1: watermelon rose slushy or sorbet
Functional summer recipe with two main ingredients and two ways of serving
- 23.August.2023
Is there a more summery fruit than watermelon? And how many ways do you know to serve it? Here we are, adding one more watermelon recipe, and with the participation of our favourite rose in the form of rose water for cooking and drinks. If that flavours combination sounds surprising to you, the next surprise in this simplest summer recipe is the presence of only two main ingredients, which you can serve in two different ways.
To the remarkably synergistic flavour combination of watermelon and rose, with this recipe we also add the functional properties of rose water, which is a completely natural product with a naturally high content of rose oil. Enough to feel its benefits, but not as high in concentration as with pure rose essential oil. This is an important point because the essential oil consumed directly could hide some risks. And this applies not only to rose, but to most essential oils, which are generally not recommended for direct internal consumption because of their super saturated form.
But back to the rose water for cooking and drinking, which we have bottled specifically for consumption by dilution, and in accordance with all the rules of food and drink safety. A number of scientific studies testify that, when added in moderate doses of a few spoons to our daily drinks such as water, juices, smoothies, coffee drinks and others, rose water has the power to add to our menu valuable antioxidant activity, detox function and peristalsis stimulation.
And so, a summer dessert becomes not only a refreshing and delightful part of our menu, but also a conscious functional meal.
Well, will watermelon and rose be your new all-star summer combination? Try it while it’s still summer.
