Trifle with rose jam
A quick and easy rose-flavoured dessert that calls for love
- 10.February.2023
Just before Valentine’s Day, we asked ourselves a question based on one of the clichés about love, “Does love really go through the stomach?” Our answer is again and again “Yes”! Whether it is the butterflies in the stomach as a first signal of falling in love, whether it is a romantic candlelit dinner or some aphrodisiac food alone, there is a connection between food and love and we are ready to provide evidence to support this statement. Oysters and other seafood, pineapple, chocolate, chilli peppers, artichokes are among the most famous foods that awaken amorous desire. There is also a Bulgarian herb – flower, our favorite oil-bearing rose damascena, which we quite rightly add to the list of aphrodisiacs. That’s why…
Rose essential oil and rose water are believed to bring happiness, self-confidence and are known as sensual aphrodisiacs. In one of the articles on the functional properties of the rose, we also find a scientific confirmation that rose oil helps with infertility and libido problems. In addition, thanks to the rose oil it contains, rose damascena improves sexual dysfunction and symptoms of depression, with the aphrodisiac effectiveness of the rose on men being even greater than on women (surprise, surprise!). Well, we think it’s not just depression patients who can benefit from rose and its libido-enhancing effects. And let Valentine’s Day be the occasion that only reminds us how to ignite love through roses and good food every day of the year.
And for this February 14th, we’re serving up a portion of love in a glass with this easy, quick and effective dessert.
