Kon’nichiwa Japan! With the Japanese ‘Hello’ we invite you to look to the East of Asia, to faraway Japan. During the last few weeks we are into building bridges from the land of roses to the land of the rising sun. We even learned a few world in Japanese from Japanese videographer Yoji Sato who currently lives in Sofia and with whom we had lots of fun while shooting the video introducing to the Japanese our concept of the Bulgarian rose as edible flower. Here why today we want to share the emotion of those cross-cultural connections through the link of the most emblematic flavours of our Bulgaria and fascinating Japan. To us those flavours are Bulgarian rose and matcha. So, get ready for a virtual flight Sofia – Tokyo in a cup! Plus, it’s a two-way flight: the first one on a chilly day and the second one – on a hot summer day. Before you run to take your suitcase, let us reassure you – you don’t need big luggage. All that is required for this exotic trip of flavours is listed bellow…
WHITE CHOCOLATE WITH ROSE AND MATCHA HOT DRINK
PRODUCTS:
1 cup of milk of your choice
25 g Rosey’s mark white chocolate with roses
1 tea spoon high-quality matcha powder
rose petals for decoration (optional)
PREPARATION:
1. Heat the milk and the chocolate in a small saucepan till chocolate dissolves.
2. After chocolate is dissolved, you can blend the mixture in a blender if you want to create a layer of foam. Or you can skip this step.
3. Pour the hot chocolate milk in a cup.
4. To prepare the matcha heat water to 80˚С. Put one tea spoon sifted matcha powder in a small cup and add 50 ml of the hot water. Energeticaly whisk by using chasen brush or electric foam maker for coffee.
5. Add the matcha to the milk and whisk.
6. Decorate with rose petals (optional).

ice cubes and rose petals fro serving
PREPARATION:
1. Heat the milk and the chocolate in a small saucepan till chocolate dissolves.
2. To prepare the matcha heat water to 80˚С. Put one tea spoon sifted matcha powder in a small cup and add 50 ml of the hot water. Energeticaly whisk by using chasen brush or electric foam maker for coffee.
3. Fill up a tall glass with ice cubes and add the matcha.
4. Pour over the chocolate milk and decorate with rose petals.
